The message light is blinking on my Toshiba telephone, yet when I press it my telephone calls another telephone on intercom. What has caused this and how can I remove the blinking message light?
If this has happened, another user has (sometimes inadvertently) “set” a message on your phone by calling you on intercom then pressing the MSG button.
To clear the set message you can:
- Press the MSG button. Ask the person at that phone to pick up, then hang up.
- At your phone, press INTERCOM or DN, then dial #409. (We call this the 409 cleaner).
If you complete one of the above steps and your message light is still blinking, press it again. It may be indicating that you have a new voice mail message or that someone has set another message at your phone. Repeat the above steps as needed.
